The opening ceremony of the 8th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) was held this afternoon (Oct. 12) in Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier Wu Yi attended the event. It is the sixth time she has attended the Fair.
At a press conference held yesterday (Oct 11th), Shenzhen mayor Xu Zongheng said that 25 foreign delegations will attend the fair, a new high. In addition, 14 foreign minister-level officials, five top foreign stock exchanges and executives from international high-tech and professional companies will participate in the event. Xu also said that the fair will display the latest homegrown technology and the growth of recycling economy after China decided to boost technological innovation at the beginning of this year. The themes of the fair this year are technological innovation, recycling economy and protection for intellectual property rights.
