Guangdong will soon launch a series of policies meant to facilitate Traditional Chinese Medicine development in rural areas. The move is an effort to enable more villagers to obtain affordable medical care.
Guangdong Department of Health Vice Director Peng Wei said that a shortage of people with proper knowledge about traditional Chinese medicine is an issue in rural areas. The policies will highlight intensive training of 1,500 doctors before 2010. They will be chosen from one third of the clinics in villages and towns
