Guangdong South China Specialty Chemicals Institute has been estalished recently in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, the Medicine Economic News reported. This is the first research institute of its kind in South China, responsible for research and new technology promotion in this field.

The institute is jointly funded by the Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute and the China Academy of Science-Technology Development. A total of 67 million yuan is planned to be invested in the institute within the coming three years. The institute will integrate production, teaching, and research in its future operations.

The institute has two major functions including technology research and technological services. The research work will be carried out by polymer material institute, analysis and test centers; and the service function will be implemented via standardization service center, technology transfer center, and export promotion center.
