The volume of trade between Shenzhen and ASEAN countries grew more than 30 percent annually to reach US$18 billion in 2005, according to a Shenzhen official.
"ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries have become Shenzhen's fourth largest export market," Li Decheng, chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said at a forum in Beijing on Saturday.
According to Li, the number of Shenzhen investments and institutions in ASEAN countries hit more than 160, with assets totaling US$5 billion.
