The public security in the Guangzhou Railway station area has been greatly improved, according to an interview with secretary of CPC Committee of Guangzhou's Yuexiu District Zhou Qingqiang.
During the first half of this year, the area reports a record low number in criminal cases, down 51% compared with the same period last year.
This is thanks to a series of campaigns against suspicious behavior conducted by the Public Security department. Public security has long been a serious problem in areas around Guangzhou Railway station as it is one of the busiest districts in Guangzhou, with foot traffic of up to 600,000 per day.
