Recently the State Council announced the 6th list of nationally protected sites. Among the 1,080 cultural heritage sites, five are in Guangzhou, bringing the total number of listed sites in Guangzhou to 24.

The Nan Han Dynasty tombs

The two tombs, located at Qinggang and Daxiangshan, west Xiaoguwei Island, Xinzao Town in Panyu District, were found between June 2003 and October 2004, during excavation of the site of the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center. The tombs, dating back to the Nan Han Dynasty, were later shown to be a De Tomb and a Kang Tomb.

The Liurong Temple

The Liurong Temple, located on Liurong Road, is an ancient temple that is well-known both at home and abroad. It was named by Su Dongpo, a great poet and calligrapher of the Song Dynasty.

The Qing Dynasty Customs House

The Qing dynasty customs house is located at No.29 Yanjiangxi Road. The former Guangdong customs department, established in 1685 (the 24th year of Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty), was one of the first customs departments established in China. In 1860 (the 10th year of Xianfeng Emperor of the Qing Dynasty), the taxation department built offices on the present site. Construction of the existing customs building began in 1914 and was completed in 1916.

The Guangdong Consulting Administration Site

Located at No. 30 Dadongmen, in the Guangzhou Uprising Martyr's Cemetery, The Guangdong Consulting Administration Site was built in the first year of Xuantong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty and has been the site of many historical events. The events include the establishment of the Guangdong Consulting Administration in February 1909; the announcement of independence of Guangdong from Qing Government in November 9, 1911; the inauguration of Sun Yat-sen as the Provisional President of China in May 1921; and, the publication of the Political Weekly edited by Mao Zedong. From 1958 until now, it has been the home of the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History.

The Guangyu Memorial Temple

Built by the descendants of Lu Xiufu, the last prime minister of the Nan Song dynasty, the temple, which contains six detailed records of its maintenance, is called a "living example of Chinese architecture". In its fabric are preserved elements of the architecture of the Ming and Qing dynasties, combining features of the southern and northern architectural styles.
