The Third Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation and Development Forum will be held in Yunnan province from June 5 to 10.
The opening ceremony will be held in Qujing, the headstream of Pear River, symbolizing close ties between regions in Pan-Pear River Delta. And leaders of the '9+2' provinces and regions will attend a joint conference in Kunming International Exhibition Center on June 6.
The PPRD region, popularly known as "9+2", consists of nine provinces, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, plus the two Special Administrative Regions Hong Kong and Macao. It covers a population of 450 million. The regional cooperation concept was launched in June 2004.
