2006 is the year of Russia in China. To push forward trade and economic cooperation between Guangdong and Russia, the 11th workshop for Sino-Russian regional cooperation will be held in Guangzhou on May 22.

A promotional event of Russia's Siberian federal district will be held at the same time. A 150-member delegation from the district will attend the promotion. Besides senior government officials, the delegation consists of representatives from different industrial sectors. Insiders believe that the Siberian federal district has abundant mine and forest resources and could be complementary to the Guangdong economy. There is a great potential for future prospects.
