A 10-month-old Hungarian girl suffering from cerebral palsy was brought back to Shenzhen on Monday to continue her treatment along with four other young Hungarian palsy sufferers who hope to find a cure for their disease here.

The girl, known only as Timina, first came to Shenzhen in November last year, yesterday's Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. Premature delivery had damaged her brain and she could not respond to stimuli like light or sound. The doctors in Hungary had given up on her, but her parents decided to bring her to Shenzhen as a last resort.

Their faith paid off, after doctors at the Shenzhen No. 6 People's Hospital, using a combination of tradition Chinese medicine and revolutionary methods of treatment for a month and a half, managed to elicit certain basic responses from the girl.

The family left Shenzhen for Hungary in January. The Hungarian doctors were amazed by the effectiveness of the treatment and the girl became famous overnight in her country.

The four other cerebral palsy sufferers who arrived Monday are between 2 and 10 years old.

The Shenzhen No. 6 People's Hospital has so far treated 29 patients from 14 countries, suffering from various nervous system diseases, using new methods of treatment.
