S.E.M Marc Ravalomanana, the president of the Republic of Madagascar, expressed his hope Thursday that Madagascar and Shenzhen could cooperate in fields such as finance, high technology and natural resources.

During his meeting with Shenzhen Mayor Xu Zongheng at the Wuzhou Guest House, Ravalomanana said his country is rich in natural resources but lacked technology and management expertise.

Xu introduced the four pillar industries in Shenzhen and the economic situation of the city, saying that he welcomed long-term cooperation with Madagascar.

Ravalomanana expressed his admiration for the fast-growing economy in Shenzhen as well as the entrepreneurship of Shenzhen residents. Ravalomanana hoped his people could learn from Shenzheners to build a strong nation.

Ravalomanana visited the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. on Thursday. He said he was impressed by the well-developed financial industry in Shenzhen.
