Guangdong Health Department said at a conference on March 30 that Guangdong is speeding up the process to set up a precautionary system for serious epidemics like human bird flu.
The system will enable Guangdong to predict and take precautious measures prior to the outbreaks of serious epidemics.
In addition, over the next five years, an information database and information center for fatal diseases including malignant tumors, AIDS and diabetes will be built to prevent the diseases at an earlier stage.
