Guangzhou's industrial revenue is expected to increase 14% in 2006, and farmers' per capita net income is expected to grow 7%. These figures are stated in the newly published white book for Guangzhou's economic and social development in 2006.
The Development and Reform Commission of Guangzhou Municipality points out in the book that Guangzhou doesn't have much of a problem in maintaining a stable industrial growth, but the growth rate will slow down to 14%, 1.4% lower than last year.
Competition in Guangzhou's tourism market is heating up as foreign-funded travel companies will enter the Chinese market. It's estimated that 100 million travelers will visit Guangzhou in 2006, of which 2 million are foreign visitors, up 11% and 20% over 2005 respectively.
