Guangzhou's tourism market is expected to experience another upsurge this year by providing more convenience in transportation. Insiders predict that since the negotiations to have Canada as a travel destination has nearly concluded, a direct flight between Canada's Vancouver and Guangzhou is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
In addition, the train from Guangzhou to Lhasa, capital of Tibet, will be put into trial operation on one of its sections in May. The complete launch of the express train operation will begin in July. It will take an estimated 58 hours to reach Lhasa.
The train will pass Tanggula Mountain, which rises above sea level at 5,072 meters. Travelers can enjoy the high plateau scenery in the Gela section. The train also provides an oxygen service for travelers who will experience altitude sickness.
