The officials who are found responsible for a fatal traffic accident in Guangzhou, capital of southern Guangdong Province, received administrative punishment on Friday.
Liang Peichang, vice director of the city's environmental sanitation bureau, is suspended from duties while Chen Sihua, head of the bureau's dirt and waste residue discharge control section, has been dismissed.
The punishment decisions were made at a meeting of the members of the standing committee of the municipal committee of the Communist Party of China.
At around 4:00 p.m. Thursday, a collision occurred between a truck of Guangzhou Anxunda bulk material logistics company and a bus, leaving six passengers dead and 20 others injured.
As of Saturday, the Guangzhou municipal environmental sanitation bureau has revoked the transport permits for all the 130 trucks of the company and implemented a citywide checkup of all transport companies of this sort.
