Asian Games Athlete village locates in southern GZ - Guangdong - News Brief

The 16th Asian Games, to be held in 2010 in Guangzhou, will have 42 sports, and the athlete village for the event will be located in the southern Guangzhou, according to Nanfang Daily.

Within the 42 sports, 28 were included in Olympic Games, 2 are to be decided by the Olympic Council of Asia, the other 12 are snooker, bowling, golf, kabaddi, rugby, sepaktakraw, squash, Wushu, roller skating, dragon boat racing, dance sport and Karatedo.

It is reported that Guangzhou is going to build 11 new stadiums or gyms and renovate another 46 ones, another 9 stadiums will be built in the university town to meet the requirement of a world-class sports event.
