The Chinese Ministry of Health Sunday (March 5) confirmed that a 32-year-old man in Guangdong Province died from bird flu. The ministry is now trying to alleviate any fears that the disease is likely to spread through out Guangdong.
The Health Minister Gao Qiang said after attending a CPPCC group discussion on Tuesday that Guangdong has a population in the ten millions and one confirmed case can't really prove anything. He said, only one case can't conclude the bird flu will spread in the province. Zhong Nanshan, director of the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Diseases, also said, at present it is just a very unique case and there is no need to panic.
