The traffic authorities have changed the starting points of over 10 bus routes to Meilin and Nantou checkpoints, and plan to open six new bus routes to ease the traffic pressure there.

Starting from today, bus routes 612, 620, 621, 622, 624, 787, 788, 812 and 990 will start at a bus station bordering Meilin Checkpoint outside the special economic zone (SEZ), while bus routes 604, 618, 714, 718 and 795 will start at a bus station bordering the Nantou Checkpoint outside the SEZ.

Meanwhile, bus routes 60 and 16 will start from a bus station within the SEZ and adjacent to the Meilin Checkpoint. Bus routes 201 and 217 will start from a bus station adjacent to the Nantou Checkpoint and within the SEZ.

Four new bus routes to Meilin Checkpoint will open soon. Bus route 75, which will open Wednesday, will link Meilin Checkpoint and Ke Xue Guan Metro Station. Bus route 76, which will open March 14,will run from Meilin Checkpoint to Yueliangwan Road. Two other bus routes to Meilin Checkpoint will open by May 1.

Two new bus routes to Nantou Checkpoint will also be opened.
