Imagine a time when the car you are driving will warn you of a traffic jam two blocks away, and direct you to a different route. Or when your TV will offer the same visual and audio excitement as a movie complex. Or when your PC will function as a TV, a library, a video game console, and a video telephone.
Sounds like a sci-fi movie? Well you can experience these and more at the digital TV, film and information technology expo during the ICIF in May.
The expo features digital TV and film devices for family users, including the TV-based digital home video system, the computer-based digital multimedia system, digital game players, MP4 players and the multimedia systems for vehicle use.
It also displays digital TV devices and technologies, such as the handset TV service, online TV service and outdoor TV broadcasting.
This is the second time that the expo is being held at the ICIF. The first expo in 2004 was a hit among visitors and had partially boosted the growth of digital TV in Shenzhen since last year, according to Shenzhen Media Group, the expo's organizer.
"We hope the upcoming event will provide visitors with a better understanding about what a digitized life means and how they will benefit from the new technologies, especially as Shenzhen is in a process of replacing analog TV sets with digital TV sets," the organizer said.
The expo is expected to further exploit the digital TV market in China, which is generating billions of dollars each year. In Shenzhen alone, 3 million analog TV sets will be replaced by 2007, the organizer said.
So far many world-famous TV channels, TV manufacturers and high-tech companies have signed up to participate in the expo, including the AXN action channel, ESPN, Star TV, Phoenix TV and Sony.
