According to a recent survey conducted by the national statistics bureau's Guangdong survey team, properties and automobiles still topped last year's consumption list. Survey shows that urban residents' expenditure on a family car was 828 yuan per capita last year, up 95.2 percent. For every 100 households there were 9.7 cars, up 47.7 percent. Because of the increasing number of family cars, transportation spending increased to 1,557 yuan per capita, up 54.9 percent. In addition, with the quickening work and life pace, dining out spending also saw a growth rate of 12.9 percent, about 1,169 yuan per capita.
