Guangzhou Vice Mayor Wang Xiaoling announced a series of Guangzhou's economic development data and plans Wednesday (Jan 11th). She said that there is no doubt that Guangzhou's GDP growth last year will accomplish previous set goal of a 12%.

Wang added, according to the latest economic development data, Guangzhou's tertiary industry percentage exceeds 57% among other two industries, which distinguishes a modernized city. The city has also become the cradle for a financial center featuring over 100 international banks establishing branches in Guangzhou.

Wang also said that Honda's new line cars have reached Guangdong but she didn't release any details regarding the car. Wang also stated that: Guangzhou's Nansha harbor will increase a number of international shipping itineraries; Guangzhou Metro will begin constructions on seven lines; Guangzhou new Baiyun airport will spend 9 billion yuan to build the second phase of the airport to accommodate more airplanes, and it will also launch more international flights.
