Baiyun airport to open 50 new int'l lines before 2010 - Guangdong - News Brief

Baiyun airport has received over 235 million passengers this year and it has become one of the top 50 airports in the world. The south China air hub is going to inaugurate 50 new international lines in the coming five years. It plans to expand its East III and West III aisles to deal with the increasing passenger flow and postpone the Terminal II project.

In 2006 ¨C2010, the provincial airport group plans to invest 11.4 billion yuan to expand the airport, build a transfer center for exclusive use by FedEx, digitalize the airport and improve other facilities and systems. The airport aims to become world¡¯s top 20 airport by the year 2015.
