Last Friday afternoon (Dec. 23rd) in Guangzhou's Garden Hotel, Secretary of Guangdong CPC Committee Zhang Dejiang and Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua met with a high-level visiting delegation from Kuwait, headed by Kuwait's Energy Minister and the OPEC President Sheikh Ahmad FahadAl-AhmadAl-Sabah.

Regarding the economic technology cooperation between Guangdong and Kuwait, in particular the energy cooperation, both parties shared their strong views regarding the relationship between Guangdong and Kuwait.

Zhang commented that Guangdong is China¡¯s most prosperous province that consumes the largest amounts of petroleum. There is a huge market potential for petroleum cooperation between Guangdong and Kuwait. And he also expressed gratitude to the Sheikh Fahad¡¯ efforts to promote cooperation between the two parties. Sheikh Fahad expressed hope to enhance cooperation with China, especially with Guangdong in the areas of economic technology cooperation.
