The identities of the 26 dead in Sunday's restaurant fire in south China's Guangdong Province have not been confirmed yet, said local officials on Monday.
More than 100 people were inside an illegally-opened bar of Tandao Western-style Restaurant in Tanzhou Township when the fire broke out.
The 11 injured in the fire were in stable conditions, according to the People's Hospital of Zhongshan City.
Wang Yuanhua, deputy secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, went to the hospital to visit the injured and required the medical workers to go all-out to save the injured.
The government of Zhongshan City said on Monday that the victims include 21 male and five female, and the government has set up work teams to console the dead's families and deal with the aftermath.
Investigation showed the bar was not equipped with any fire extinguishing devices and the safety exit is extremely narrow, making it difficult for the people inside to evacuate, said a government official.
