2005 Nanyue friendship awards ceremony was held on Dec. 19th. Guangzhou Vice-governor Xie Qianghua, on behalf of Guangdong Government, expressed thanks to 20 foreign experts who have contributed greatly to Guangdong¡¯s development.

Later, Xie and the State Bureau of Foreign Expert Vice-Director Zhang Jianguo and Guangdong Personnel Department Head Tan Zhangqiu presented the foreign experts awards. The Nanyue friendship award was set up in 1992, and is a biyearly event. The 2005 award winners are from 11 countries, including the United States, France, Korea and Japan. Most of them have been working in the economic technology, culture and education areas for over 2 years. They were recruited to support Guangdong¡¯s key development projects and have obtained great achievements in their work.
