GD Sun Yat-sen Library Celebrates Expansion - Guangdong - News Brief

Last Saturday (December 10th), Guangdong Sun Yat-sen Library had a ceremony for its renovation and expansion construction. Guangdong Executive Vice-Governor Zhong Yangsheng attended the ceremony.

As one of the three key culture construction projects of Guangdong's 10th five-year plan from 2001 to 2005, construction on Guangdong Sun Yat-sen Library will be environmentally-friendly, energy-saving and human-oriented.

The overall investment is 500 million RMB and the construction on expansion will cover 680,000 square meters. Upon its completion in 2010, Guangdong Sun Yat-sen Library will boast a collection of 8 million books and provide 4000 seats for readers. Its capacity to host readers will hit an average of 150,000 every day.
