The environmental protection bureau of Guangdong province issued its work plan for the "11th five-year plan" period, which is from 2006 to 2010 yesterday.
According to the plan, the province will input 135.6 billion yuan in six key environmental protection projects, including sewage treatment and river clean-up, de-sulphurization, solid waste treatment, ecologic system protection and radioactive waste (source) treatment and environment-related alarm system.
By the year 2010, half of the cities in the province are expected to meet the standard of "state's model city on environmental protection".
