Useful Notice:
The Shenzhen Metro Phase I opening ceremony has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 28) in the east square of the Shenzhen Railway Station at Luohu with the Metro to open at 5 p.m.

No reason was given for the delay and the Metro Company did not elaborate.

The first phase of the Metro includes Line 1, running from the Shenzhen

Fire proof --The Metro cars have advanced automatic fire-control and fire-extinguishing systems monitored by the control center.
"One-man' Metro --The Metro, with an automatic control system, is virtually operated and supervised by just one man.
Tri-lingual PA --The public address system will relay announcements in Putonghua, Cantonese and English. Screens will show the route of the train with all stations.
Controlled environment --The Metro has a central air-conditioning system.
Line 4, running from the Children's Palace to the Huanggang Checkpoint.

However, the Huanggang Station, which is still under construction, will not open Tuesday.

The traffic police bureau announced special traffic control measures for the opening ceremony. All vehicles except taxis, public buses and coaches are prohibited from entering the east square of the railway station, and the south of Chunfeng Road starting from the intersection of Renmin Road South, as well as the south of Jiabin Road from the intersection of Jianshe Road.

Official & public appraisal

The auxilliary road for Shennan Thoroughfare will be closed to east-bound traffic at the Window of the World section from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Metro will run from 6.30 a.m. until 11 p.m., extending to midnight on public holidays, such as the New Year, the Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, the May Day holiday and the National Day holiday.   (source: szdaily)
