More auto giants join GZ auto show

The second session of Guangzhou international auto exhibition opened yesterday (Nov 23rd) attracts a batch of new participators. The show receives more than 30000 visitors in the first day.

With an input exceeding 20 million yuan (USD2.42 mln), Guangzhou tends to upgrade its auto show's international influence. The municipality's move received positive feedback from auto giants - Toyota, Benz, Ford send their exhibition teams to the show for the first time. Toyota takes the Guangzhou exhibition as an 'international Class A one', books a 2000 sq.m. booth and sends a preparatory team of over 40 members. While most of the exhibitors, which have participated last session, have expended their exhibition area.

Guangdong's auto manufacturing

As three Japanese auto enterprises, Toyota, Honda and Nissan, have settled down in Guangzhou, an 'auto industries cluster' based on Japanese tech has taken shaped in the city. Meanwhile, Guangzhou has attract 60-odd auto parts projects and at present there are over 200 auto part manufacturing factories in the city. This will help the harmonious development of auto and auto parts manufacturing industries, says Zhang Fangyou, board chairmen of Guangzhou Auto Group, on the '2004 China (Guangzhou) Auto Development Forum' held yesterday.
