According to Guangzhou Tourism Bureau, Guangzhou’s tourism industry in the first half of this year saw a growth of nearly 29 percent over the same period last year, with more than 22.3 billion RMB in revenue.
Both domestic and foreign visitors to Guangzhou showed a notable increase. The amount of foreign visitors was 30,000 more than the highest historical record in 2002. Most overseas travelers are from Japan, America and Malaysia. In addition, the individual travel to Hong Kong and Macao has boosted the local tourism businesses.
