Chinese scientists in Qingdao have successfully found a way to "control" pigeons by planting microelectrode stimulation devices in pigeon's brains.
A team of scientists from the Robot Research Center at the Shandong University of Science and Technology planted microelectrode devices at the top of the pigeon's head when the bird was under the anesthetic.
Scientists sent computer commands through the devices to the pigeon to take off, hover, turn left and right and fly forward.
Chief scientist Professor Su Xuecheng explained the pigeon does not feel sense of pain at the head and failures will not influence the pigeon's life. Editor: Yan
