The 2003 international consultative conference on the future economic development of Guangdong province (ICCFED) will be held on Nov. 3rd and 4th in Guangzhou, announced Mr. Chen Shanru, chief of Guangdong Provincial Development Planning Commission and deputy director of preparatory group of the consultative conference.
The theme of this conference is 'International competitiveness and Guangdong's development'.
Governor Huang Huahua has sent invitation letters to 20-odd CEOs/Chairmen/decision-makers of the Fortune 500 enterprises and world famous experts on education, technology and economy. Up till now, 19 senior directors from international top enterprises and 4 renowned experts have accepted the invitation and will attend the conference.
Other preparatory work has been carried out smoothly.

These consultants' names are often seen in top magazines as Business Week and Fortune. They are chairmen, presidents, CEOs or main decision-makers of famous multinational companies, such as Mr. Maurice R Greenberg, chairmen/CEO of AIG (American International Group), Mr. Fujio Mitarai, president/CEO of Canon Inc., Dr. Daniel Vasella, chairman/CEO of Novartis AG, and so on. The Conference
On Nov. 2nd, Governor Huang Huahua will meet all the consultants one by one, and hold a greeting banquet. On Nov. 3rd, there will be an opening ceremony and private sessions, followed by a press conference. After dinner in the evening, Governor Huang will be interviewed by media from home and abroad. On Nov. 4th, a series of seminars will be held to discuss several topics as 'how to improve the international competitiveness of Guangdong's manufacturing sector'.
Review of the previous conference
The first ICCFED has helped Guangdong in better understanding the developing trend of international economy and various industries. The conference also promotes the cooperation between Guangdong and multinational corporations.
