The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympiad (BOCOG) launched the official ticketing website for the 2008 Olympic Games on March 8 and is designed to accept domestic public registrations. The just-opened official ticketing website is BOCOG's sole official online media for ticketing information and distribution. According to the information on the website, the lowest priced ticket for watching the games will be RMB 30 while the highest priced ticket for the Opening Ceremony will be RMB 5000.

According to plan the website does not accept any ticket reservations at present but all the large-scaled travel agencies have already began to establish close relationships with the related service and ticketing departments for the Games and related activities. According to estimates of the GZL International Travel Service Ltd, the price for accommodations in Beijing hotels will increase from 5 to 8 times the current amount and the special group rates of the city's Three-star hotels will be about RMB 1000 per night so even to attend the cheapest game, the total traveling fee is estimated to be above RMB 6000.
