The Phoenix Suns have rewarded Boris Diaw, who won the NBA's Most Improved Player award last season, with a five-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the extension is believed to be worth about 45 million U.S. dollars, according to the Arizona Republic on Saturday.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to make 1.79 million dollars this season.
Diaw averaged 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists last season. He played even better in the playoffs, averaging 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists as the Suns lost to Dallas in six games in the Western Conference finals.
