Newcastle United said on Saturday that winger Damien Duff is set to join the English premier league club from Chelsea.
Newcastle said in a statement on its website that contracts have been exchanged with Chelsea for the transfer of Damien Duff.
"The player, having agreed terms, is currently undergoing a medical,"said the statement.
Newcastle has been looking to reinforce its attacking as veteran striker Alan Shearer has retired and Michael Owen will be out for most the season after injuring his knee at the World Cup.
