KSK Beveren on Wednesday regained its license to compete in the Belgian First Division next season on appeal after agreeing a deal with the Belgian Football Association.
Two weeks ago Beveren was denied a license because of a debt of just over one million euros (about 1.27 million U.S. dollars) to Ivory Coast side ASEC Mimosas.
The two clubs had initially been working together, but the agreement broke down and the FIFA (Federation of International Football Association) and the International Sport Tribunal ordered Beveren to compensate Mimosas for Ivorian players they had sold onto other clubs.
However, Beveren had been unable to repay that debt due to third-party legal claims on the funds involved.
But now the club will be given a license provided that they place the relevant amount in a blocked account, jointly administered by the club and the national association.
