Brazilian striker Julio Baptista was introduced Monday in his new team Real Madrid, after having signed a contract for five seasons and 20 million euros (24 million dollars).
Honorary Real Madrid President Alfredo di Stefano handed over to the Brazilian shirt number eight in a ceremony at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the presence of club President Florentino Perez.
Baptista who came to reinforce Real along with his compatriot Robinho, looked forward at winning "many titles with this uniform" and thanked the club for his reception.
The executives of the Iberian club acknowledged the achievements of the Brazilian player in the Spanish soccer in the past two years, when he has scored on 50 occasions.
Baptista will bring youth and force as human being, in addition to his virtues as a player, which are "important qualities in the Real Madrid family," said the Real Madrid president.
