Russian dynamic duo Totmianina and Marini have won their fourth straight European Championships pairs title. The pair established a lead of 6.11 points over their nearest rivals after the short programme on Tuesday (Jan 25).
They then put on a stunning performance in the free skating Wednesday (Jan 26) and easily outclassed their nearest challengers.
Totmianina and Marinin opened their four-minute free programme with triple Salchows, before nailing four more jumps and throws to the delight of the capacity crowd at the rink.
For the duo, the victory was especially sweet as Totmianina was sidelined for almost three months after she suffered a concussion last October, following a fall during a lift in the Skate America competition.
