Latest Updated by 2004-11-29 09:26:32

Veteran Taiwan singer Dave Wong, or Wang Jie in Chinese, finally staged his first concert in Beijing Friday night.

After a wait of nearly 20 years, fans in Beijing and even from all over the country rolled in the Capital Gymnasiumin and seized the chance to meet their idol face-to-face.

The singer once more proved his fascination night by singing many familar tunes. The whole concert reached its peak when the song "Annie" recalled so many memories, with excited fans jumping onto the stage.

With 50 albums under his belt, Wang Jie is recognized by his melancholic love songs and magnetic voice. He first hit the music scene in 1987.
