A Kingold Australian Film Festival, jointly organized by the Australian Consulate-General Guangzhou and Guangdong Hua Ying Sollth Movie Cinema-Line Co. Ltd., is opened this evening (Nov 18) at the five-star level Fei Yang Cinema in Guangzhou.
The Consul-General of Australia, Mr Kevin Magee, the Counselor for Public Affairs and Culture from the Australian Embassy Beijing, Mr Sean Kelly, the AFI Best Actor Award winner, Mr Sam Worthington, and the renowned Australian cinematographer, Mr Christopher Doyle, will participate in the opening ceremony. The Fei Yang Cinema exclusively screens the ten movies for three times a day from 19 to 28 November.
Sam Worthington jokes that he is pleased to cooperate with Wang Kar-Wai, but Wang could only produce one film in 10 years time.
The Australian Film circle produces an average 20 to 25 feature films per year with an overall production worth of almost AUD 2 billion (equivalent to CNY 12 billion). The major reason the success that the Australian film industry achieved lays at the numerous and various educational and training institutions are prevail with international quality to be in charge of the film practitioner’s training programs . Australia keeps its status as a cradle to cultivating movie stars and camera talents for either the Australian or international film circle.
