Director Ang Lee's latest movie "Lust, Caution" has been confirmed to open this year's Venice Film Festival, Web site Sina.com reported.
The screenplay, filming for which began last year, is based on a short story by Chinese writer Eileen Chang. The film is now undergoing final editing in New York.
Lee's English-language work "Brokeback Mountain" won the Golden Lion award at the 62nd Venice Film Festival.
The 64th Venice Film Festival will kick off on August 29. Another Chinese director Zhang Yimou has been invited to chair the jury of the festival.
