THE Sixteenth Tokyo International Film Festival opened in Tokyo last Sunday, with Chinese actress Gong Li as chairwoman of the review committee. More than 100 people, including directors and actors, came from all over the world for the opening ceremony.
Two hundred and seven films will be shown at the festival and the review committee will announce the winners Sunday.
The Tokyo International Film Festival was initiated in 1985 when it was held every two years. Since 1992, it has been held annually.
