Mobile blackout during College Entrance Exams
Latest Updated by 2006-03-30 10:26:38

GUANGZHOU'S education authorities will spend 3 million yuan (US$369,000) on wireless signal screening equipment to be adopted in all 2,100 testing rooms during the National College Entrance Exams this year. Students will not be able to use mobile phones during the test even if they sneak the gadgets into the examination halls, the Information Times said. Examinees have reportedly used mobile phones to cheat in past years.

Nearly 60,000 will sit for this year's NCEE in Guangzhou, a 12 percent increase over last year.
