A group of 27 members from 17 African countries finished an agricultural training course which started October 12th and lasted till November 26th.
The course was provided by the China International Agricultural Training Center at South China Agricultural University. The students learned how to protect plants, including rice paddies and oranges, against diseases and insects. The group consists of government officers, technicians and teachers.
Two third of the students carry masters degrees and some of the students prepared to apply for PhD study in South China Agricultural University.
The China International Agricultural Training Center has had 19 similar training courses since it opened in 1989. It has trained 348 students from around the world.
