[Odd] Woman seeks father online
Latest Updated by 2006-12-01 08:51:26

A SHENZHEN businesswoman is using the Internet to look for a surrogate father, to fill the void created in her life by the death of her biological father, who passed away when she was 30.

The woman, only known by her Internet user name Hongchen Nuxia, posted a message on www.tianya.cn, seeking a "knowledgeable and humorous" man who was "above 60 and without a daughter."

The woman promised a five-day trip to Shenzhen and one-day trip to Hong Kong to anyone who introduced such a man to her.

According to Hongchen Nuxia, her father was a chemistry professor. As her mother was a doctor very busy with her work, she spent most of her teenage years with her father. But her father passed away at the age of 55 because of cancer.

"I missed the time with my father, and that was the happiest period in my life," she wrote in the posting.

The woman said she was married and lived with her husband and daughter in Futian District. She said her husband, whose father had also passed away, supported her plan. She claimed to have a 10-year-old company engaged in Internet business, trade, and logistics.

The woman declined a Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reporter's request for a face-to-face interview, but said she had posted the message to get paternal love.

She said she received some responses after posting the message Nov. 13. She has exchanged instant messages, telephone calls and video images with some candidates and is ready to meet one. "All (the potential candidates) have normal families. They just want a daughter," she said.

But she said she will not live with her adopted father. "We will only gather together on holidays," she said.
