Latest Updated by 2005-04-18 15:22:32

A 50-year-old woman gave birth to twins after losing her beloved son.

The Shanghai-based Xinmin Evening News reports that a fifty-year-old woman gave birth to twins Wednesday after a difficult pregnancy of 32 weeks.

The new mother in northeast China's city of Shenyang, lost her beloved son two years ago and decided to have another try after discovering she was able to have another baby.

Experiencing poor health throughout the gestation period, the woman refused to take any medicine for her babies' health.

After an emergency caesarean operation, she finally welcomed her twins, a boy and a girl.
