Vaccinations against tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, measles, meningitis, mumps and chicken pox would be administered free to children, the provincial health department said Wednesday.
The department has also worked out several detailed countermeasures to tackle respiratory diseases, including setting up a supervisory system based on occupational circumstances.
The department will also pay special attention to certain areas in the province to monitor vaccinations. Clinics designated for public vaccinations are required to be built in all townships throughout the province by the end of this year.
Health cards recording children's vaccinations will be introduced at the clinics.
The health department will strengthen control of the floating population in Guangdong to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
