Sun Zhenghua, a worker at the Senzhen branch of the China Charity Federation, counts money with volunteer workers in the Metropolis Apartments in Futian District after a one-yuan donation box was opened in the community Tuesday.

A total of 5,3482.8 yuan was raised through the collection box to help tusunami survivors. Since Shenzhen launched the one-yuan donation campaign Dec. 8, 2004, more than 200 one-yuan donation boxes have been placed throughout the city. The donation boxes are usually opened every three months.

The one-yuan donation campaign, launched by the China Charity Federation in 2001, has spread to four major cities, including Beijing, Tianjin and Guangzhou.
