Temperatures are expected to start falling as a cold front from the north reaches the city Tuesday.
The mercury would continue to fall through News Year’s Day when the minimum temperature was expected to dip to 10 degrees Celsius, the Shenzhen Evening News reported.
The cold front from northern areas would reach South China coastal areas Tuesday, with the minimum temperature in the city to drop to 12 degrees around Wednesday, the report said.
Another cold front was due at the weekend, when the temperature was expected to fall to about 10 degrees, the coldest so far this year.
The report reminded people with asthma, other respiratory ailments and heart diseases to prepare for the colder weather.
