Every tone, every gesture has its unique meaning. Such is the charm of Cantonese Opera, traditional folk art of Guangdong. Most of Cantonese Opera fans speaks Cantonese and lives in Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries.
Recently, to promote the exchange on this folk art, a total of 43 members from Kam Yuk Tong Cantonese Opera Troupe of Hong Kong pay a visit to Foshan in south of Guangdong, bringing with them Cantonese Opera performances.
Some of the performers are only around 10, and a boy, 14, has practised for 4 or 5 years and had won a national opera award in Beijing.
During their tour, they also visit Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum and collect detailed materials for the upcoming Cantonese Opera Exhibition in Hong Kong, an activity to promote the aged art.
