THE majority of local college students graduating this summer want to work for foreign companies, according to a survey released recently by Shenzhen municipal personnel bureau.
The bureau interviewed 1,514 would-be college graduates from local universities between December and February. At least 71 percent said they would prefer to work for foreign companies.
However, if they failed to achieve that goal, 60 percent said they would choose State-owned enterprises while 56 percent said they would consider working as civil servants.
Despite facing a rigorous and highly competitive job market, fewer than 3 percent of the students interviewed wanted to pursue further education.
More than 10,000 students will graduate from local colleges and universities this year.
